Review from July 17, 2017
Gwinnett Braves vs. Leigh Valley IronPigs
Coolray Field is a beautiful park, less than ten years old as of July 2017. For people such as us, traveling south down I-85, Gwinnett can be a stop on the way to Atlanta. We saw the G-Braves on a Monday night, then finished our drive to Atlanta Tuesday morning for a SunTrust Park tour and a couple Atlanta Braves games. This particular G-Braves game featured many players that would be promoted to the Major Leagues within the same season, including: Ozzie Albies, Rio Ruiz, and Arodys Vizcaino on a rehab assignment. Highly touted Ronald Acuna was also a recent call-up to the AAA level — and we saw him hit the G-Braves only home run of the evening. The G-Braves game at Coolray Field was an excellent way to warm up for our games in Atlanta.
