Indianapolis Indians vs. Buffalo Bisons
Indianapolis Indians vs. Buffalo Bisons
Are We at Home?
By: Matthew Preslar
First, we would like to mention our gratitude to the Indians. This is the team that hit the infamous foul ball in Charlotte. We informed the Indians staff we were coming through on vacation and the circumstances involved. They generously sent their mascot to visit Katelyn in our seats during the game. Thank you very much!
As for VICTORY FIELD... this facility felt very similar to home, Charlotte. Indianapolis is a market much like ours: both cities host NBA basketball, NFL football, and AAA baseball. Both ballparks offer a city backdrop. Both are in view of NFL stadiums (Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis). In fact, during the game Katelyn leaned over and said she almost forgot that we weren’t sitting at the Knights game.
The park itself had something for everybody. There is an extensive play area from centerfield toward right. There are two berm seating areas in the outfield. There is a substantial bar in the left field corner. This park has many food and drink options under the covered concourse and a second deck in the main seating area around home plate. This was a solid ballpark, very crisp and tight.
And in the team store, we caught our first glimpse of a very tall Canadian...
