6/29/2018 0 Comments Charlotte... Take TWO!BY: REBECCA PRESLARWe did it! We made it back to the Charlotte Knights game - just FOUR WEEKS after my daughter's foul ball accident. Everything was perfect. The Knights staff who came to visit us in the hospital, and who have been in contact ever since the accident, hooked us up with special seats for the evening. We started the night in the Diamond's Direct Luxury Lounge, where we were treated to a buffet in an air conditioned lounge, alongside the suites. While we were getting the extra special treatment, our goal was still to RE-DO the evening, including getting the kids back on the field for pregame activities... just like last time. Colin once again walked onto the field with the team Manager to hand the umpires the line-up card, and Katelyn had the opportunity to start the game with a "PLAY BALL!" They both wore the shirts and hats they were gifted by the Knights!!! While on the field, we had a chance to meet the President of the Knights, as well as share an update on Katelyn's recovery with the other staff who have been keeping up with her progress since the accident. So far, so good. Then we made our way back to the Luxury Lounge to indulge in another trip to the buffet and some sweet treats, before making our way to our "Home Plate Club" seats in the section behind home plate (and protected by nets!) These seats were cushioned, bigger than the typical Field Box seats, and the section includes wait staff who takes your food and drink orders at your seat... so you really don't have to get up all game. We were too stuffed to need that feature, but it's nice to know it's an option if we feel like going back to Charlotte and pampering ourselves a little. Plus... the view of the city skyline was AMAZING! And to top it all off... we finally got our Friday night Fireworks, which was one main reason we came to the game on May 25th to begin with! Fireworks and the lit-up Charlotte city skyline... that's a view we all enjoyed. Thank you, Charlotte Knights, for taking such good care of us and giving our family an opportunity to re-write history in our minds. We can love the Knights again!
